Cabunoc assumed as the Commanding Officer of 33rd Infantry (Makabayan) Battalion yesterday (February 20, 2017) replacing Lieutenant Colonel Ricky P. Bunayog in a Change of Command Ceremony presided over by 6th Infantry Division Commander Brigadier General Arnel B. Dela Vega at 33IB Headquarters, Brgy. Tual, President Quirino, Sultan Kudarat. The outgoing Commanding Officer will now serve full time as the Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations, G3 of 6ID who assumed office last February 06, 2017.

  • 6ID Kampilantroopers added 23 new photos.Peace Building at the Shooting Range CAMP SIONGCO, Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao – The Command in partnership with the Office of the Presidential Adviser for Peace Process (OPAPP) and Cotabato City Rifle and Pistol Association (CCPRA) hosted the fun shoot on February 19-20, 2017 (Saturday and Sunday) held at 6ID Firing Range. The event is a post-Valentine activity, dubbed as “Shoot for Peace with Love”, that aimed to promote confidence building and harmonious relationship among stakeholders in support with the ongoing peace process. The shoot fest was participated by the members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF), along with the soldiers of 6th Infantry Division, Philippine Army, Philippine National Police, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, OPAPP, Local Government Units and the members of media. The event was a collective effort organized by the Presidential Adviser for Peace Process Jesus Dureza, Major General Carlito G. Galvez Jr, Commander of Western Mindanao Command and Brigadier General Arnel V, Dela Vega, Commander of 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division, Philippine Army. The historic event was attended by Regional Governor Mujiv S. Hatman of Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, Maguindanao Governor Emael Mangudadatu, Congresswoman Bai Sandra S. Sema of 1st District of Maguindanao, Former Mayor of Cotabato City and MNLF Chairman Muslimin Sema, and Edward Guera of MILF. 6ID Commander Brig. General Arnel B. dela Vega, in his welcome remarks, remained optimistic that the activity will enhance the peace deal between the government and the MILF and sustain the impetus of achieving lasting peace in Mindanao. “We are not shooting an object, but what we are shooting together is success of peace,” Sema said. On the other hand, Secretary Dureza, in his his message, urged the stakeholders to continue helping to push the peace process. “We are shooting for peace and to eliminate terrorism, poverty, extremism and corruption,” he added.
